According to Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Minister of Punjab Health; Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) will start transplantation of liver within coming 6 months. She informed this to Supreme Court of Pakistan

Dr. Yasmin Rashid said to Supreme Court of Pakistan on 12 January 2019; that PKLI will be able to perform first liver transplantation of children by June of this year in public sector.

Hearing of case concerning PKLI’s suspected indiscretions and chances of performing child’s liver transplantation was under bench of two judges with Chief Justice Saqib Nisar was head of this bench.

According to health minister provisional cabinet has approved new legislation’s draft and now it has been transferred to Chief Minister. Moreover, she said that they will present this legislation in the assembly after Chief Minister’s Approval.

Dr. Yasmin Rashid says that according to new law, Board of Governors will run PKLI.

According to Zafar Iqbal Lawyer it is not good to constitute board of governors. He said that government wants old people back and Dr. Yamin rejected by saying; “It was no more but incorrect assumption”.

In view of certain punitive remarks concerning the work of Dr. Yasmin, Chief Justice noticed campaign which was negative and was against Dr. Yasmin.

Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar said to Dr. Yasmin that he was happy by seeing that she was given Minster of Health’s Portfolio. Dr. Rashid said about criticism from opposition. CJP said to her “Don’t care about opposition as he had also faced much criticism”

General Hussain, Director of Anti-Corruption Establishment gave inquiry concerning PKLI; according to report this project should be completed by 2017. But it was no more but fund’s embezzlement which resulted in delay of project. According to him “Complete investigation of this case can be carried out after registration of case”. This report was objected by Barrister Aitzaz, as he was representing former PKLI’s management.
