East won the inter-district hockey tournament.



The District East Hockey Team was presented at the dinner reception after winning the Sindh Inter-District Hockey Championship.

The event was organized by KHA in collaboration with the Sindh Sports Department so that the winning team could be honored for winning after a long time compared to 12 teams.

Secretary Sports Sindh Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah who presented Rs.10,000 to the players and team officials who attended the function.

Tournament director Aslam Khan Niazi was also given a special cash prize of Rs 10,000.

He also decorated the athletes with gold medals.

Team captain Shahbaz Ali received the trophy from special guest Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah in the presence of Sindh women Syeda Shehla Raza, Olympian Hanif Khan and KHA secretary Haider Hussain.

Asked about the reforms in the Sindh Sports Department, the secretary said that the draft of the provincial sports policy was in the pipeline and would be unveiled soon.

After its implementation, Sindh will become the first province in the country to formulate its own sports policy to improve sports.

Imtiaz Ali Shah said that he has directed the Engineering Wing to transfer the PC-1 / Rough Estimated Coast of False Blue Astroturf, Electronic Score Board and Players Hostel and Summary to the Chief Minister through the Chief Minister’s Adviser. Will go Seal for distribution of funds.

He said that promotion of sports in the province was the vision of Chief Minister’s Advisor on Sports Bangal Khan Mehr.

KHA Patron General Vice Admiral (retd) Syed Arifullah Hussaini praised the District East Hockey Team and asked them to maintain a competitive spirit.

“It is our strategy to hold as many events as possible, which is very important to revive the game,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Syeda Shehla Raza said that it was a good omen that hockey activities in the city have been restored after a long hiatus due to encroachment of playgrounds.

He said the government would build hockey fields in every district of the province.

He praised the District East hockey team and proudly said that he is also a resident of District East.

KHA President Dr. Syed Junaid Ali Shah also attended three events for some time and appreciated the hard work of the District East Hockey Team.

The Secretary Sports presented air tickets to Sultan Mehmood and Arbaaz Ayaz, two players from Sindh who came to Peshawar from Karachi to participate in the National Under-16 Hockey Championship.

The event was organized under strict SOPs and dinner boxes were served on the tables.

KHA officials Gulfraz Khan and Haider Hussain thanked the special guest for taking the time for the youth hockey team and giving them cash prizes.

Other KHA officials Amir Aziz, Nadeem Jafari, Aizaz-ud-Din, Abuzar Umrao, Javed Iqbal, Pervez Iqbal, Riaz-ud-Din, Mustafa Jamil, Irfan Tahir, Nadeem Ahmed and Arshad were present on the occasion.
