The Sichuan Liaison Office of the China-Pakistan Business Council was launched on Saturday to accelerate Sichuan’s integration into the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and promote bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
According to a statement, the ceremony was part of a series of celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.
“The Pakistan Agricultural Cooperation Promotion Summit and the opening ceremony of the Sichuan Liaison Office of the China-Pakistan Business Council were held in Chengdu,” it said.
The China-Pakistan Business Council is a bilateral economic and trade exchange mechanism jointly established by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Pakistan Federation of Industry and Commerce. Strengthen economic and trade cooperation and trade, investment and other economic activities between the two countries’ businesses, the statement said.
With the official establishment of the liaison office, it will “take the initiative to integrate into the overall situation of national diplomacy in the future and to integrate the CPEC project and the needs of businesses in Sichuan Province.”
