Punjab orders teachers, school staff to be vaccinated.

The Punjab School Education Department has directed the teachers, administration and other staff members of all public and private schools coming under the purview of the department to be vaccinated against corona virus by August 21, 2021.

Provincial Minister for School Education Murad Rass said on Wednesday that only vaccinated staff would be allowed to enter the school premises.

The provincial minister shared a photo of the written notification issued by the ministry on Twitter.

All teachers, administration and staff of public and private schools in Punjab will be vaccinated by August 22, 2021. Anyone who does not enter the school premises after the due date without a vaccination certificate. Please follow the SOPs issued, ”Ross wrote on his official Twitter account.

The notification said that instructions have been issued to the school staff for immediate vaccination which was decided in a meeting with the National Command and Operations Center on Wednesday.

Punjab will open schools with 50% attendance.

The directives were issued after the Punjab government decided to reopen the school with 50 per cent attendance following a statement by Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood to allow educational institutions across the country to function.

Mahmood said the inter-provincial education meeting conference has decided to keep educational institutions open across the country except Sindh, where they will remain closed until at least August 8.
