Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani on Wednesday said that all educational institutions in the province would remain closed till August 8 and the remaining intermediate examinations in Sindh would be held after the situation of corona virus improved.

The education minister said in a statement that as part of the lockdown in the province, educational institutions would remain closed as per Sindh’s Corona virus restrictions.

The situation of corona virus in Sindh and especially in Karachi is not satisfactory, the education minister added, adding that the decision would be reviewed on August 8.

Ghani emphasized that the number of corona virus cases in Karachi and Hyderabad was much higher than in other parts of the country. With that in mind, he said, it is not possible to reopen schools.

The provincial coronavirus task force will meet on August 8 and work out the way forward, the provincial education minister said.

Sindh had suspended all examinations after imposing a lockdown in the province on July 31, and had also suspended all activities related to personal education.
