LAHORE: Punjab Minister for School Education Murad Rass has warned all private and government schools to vaccinate their teachers and staff members by August 22.

In a video message shared from his official Twitter handle, Murad Ross asked teachers and other staff members to vaccinate themselves and submit their vaccination certificates to their respective educational institutions.

“We have set up monitoring teams and they will make random visits to schools after August 22 to check vaccination certificates,” he said.

The minister warned that if any school staff member was found unsafe, the authorities would close the school.

“Once we find out that no staff member has been vaccinated, we will take disciplinary action,” he added.

The Punjab School Education Department had earlier ordered teachers, administration and other staff members of all public and private schools coming under the department to be vaccinated against corona virus by August 21.

Ross said on August 4 that only immunization staff would be allowed to enter the school grounds.

The provincial minister shared a picture of the written notification issued by the ministry on Twitter.

All teachers, administration and staff of public and private schools in Punjab will be vaccinated by August 22, 2021. Anyone who does not enter the school premises after the due date without a vaccination certificate. Please follow the SOPs issued, ”Ross wrote on his official Twitter account.

The notification said that instructions have been issued to the school staff for immediate vaccination, which was decided in a meeting with the National Command and Operations Center last month.

According to the notification, “As discussed, it has been ordered that non-vaccinated employees of the School Education Department will not be allowed to enter any school / office after August 21, 2021.”
