The death toll from Code 19 in Pakistan has crossed 24,000

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has recorded 86 more deaths from corona virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the national death toll to 24,004 on Tuesday morning as the country battles a fourth wave of epidemics.

According to the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 49,506 Covid 19 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours. Of these, 3,884 returned positive.

However, the positive rate is now 7.84%, according to NCOC data.

The death toll from the corona virus in the country has exceeded 24,000 and reached 24,004 and the total number of cases has reached 1,075,504.

In addition, 2,669 patients have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 967,073, while the number of active cases is 84,427.

Slight reduction in daily COVID-19 cases.

The day before, it was reported that Pakistan has been recording a slow decline in its daily COVID-19 numbers for the past few days.

Positive rates, daily cases and deaths declined on Monday, according to NCOC figures. There is a slight downward trend in daily numbers, however, active cases continue to rise with the latest figures of 84,427 cases.

Overall, corona virus cases across Pakistan have not dropped significantly, however, Sindh lifted its lockdown on Monday. The revised COVID-19 ban, which will continue till August 31, has been announced by the Sindh government.
