Former West Indies legend Ian Bishop in a tweet on Monday praised Pakistan’s brilliant Test batsman Fawad Alam after scoring a century in the second Test against the West Indies.

The 53-year-old said he would one day choose style over aesthetics and substance over production.

“I’m taking substance to style, producing aesthetics any day. Fawad Alam considers it necessary for the gods of cricket to score four centuries in the last 12 months since he returned,” Bishop tweeted.

I’m taking the substance on the style any day production on aesthetics. Fawad Alam considers it necessary for the gods of cricket to score 4 centuries in the last 12 months after his return.

Fawad Alam came to bat on the first day of the second Test against the West Indies when Pakistan lost the first two wickets for just two runs.

Alam has been the cornerstone of Pakistan’s batting line-up since returning from an 11-year hiatus.
