ISLAMABAD: In the last 24 hours, 118 more deaths and 3,838 cases were reported in Pakistan in the last 24 hours, data from the National Command and Operations Center showed.

According to the latest figures from the NCOC, 3,838 people tested positive for the virus after 52,112 CoV 19 tests were performed across the country in the past 24 hours. This brings the positivity rate to 7.36%.

With the latest count of 118 deaths, the number of deaths from COVID-19 in the country has risen to 25,788.

In addition, a total of 1,039,758 people have recovered from the virus so far, while the number of active cases in the country rose to 94,573 on August 31.

The total number of confirmed cases in Pakistan is 1,160,119.

It is pertinent to mention here that the country’s positivity rate is more than 6% over the last nine days.

However, Pakistan is reporting an average of 4,099 new infections every day, which is 70% of the peak – the highest daily average reported on June 17.

Pakistan has so far given at least 53,314,628 doses of covid vaccine. Suppose each person needs 2 doses, which is enough to vaccinate 12.3% of the country’s population.
