Prime Minister Imran Khan is presiding over the 25th meeting of the National Command Authority (NCA) on August 8, 2021.

The National Command Authority (NCA) has expressed concern over “destabilizing large-scale weapons construction” in the region.

The 25th meeting of the NCA was held at the Headquarters Strategic Plans Division under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan. General Nadeem Raza of the Staff Committee, Chief of Army, Navy, Air Force and Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence were also present.

The statement said that the NCA considered these developments as detrimental to peace and security and stressed that Pakistan would take all possible steps to ensure strategic stability in the region without entering into an arms race.

The NCA expressed full confidence in the command and control system as well as security measures to ensure comprehensive protection of Pakistan’s strategic assets, the statement said.

The Forum reaffirmed that Pakistan, as a responsible nuclear state, will continue to play a significant role in global efforts to improve nuclear security and nuclear non-proliferation measures.

The NCA was given a detailed briefing on the dynamics of conflict in the region. The Forum reiterated its commitment to maintaining full spectrum deterrence in line with the policy of reliable minimum restraint and expressed satisfaction over the development of strategic capabilities.

He added, “The NCA commends the high quality of training and operational readiness of the Strategic Forces, and commends the scientists and engineers whose dedicated contributions have enabled Pakistan to achieve the desired goals successfully.” ۔ “
