ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) on October 19 as the moon of the holy month has appeared in the country.
The moon sighting was announced on Thursday by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, chairman of the Central Route Hilal Committee, after chairing a meeting of the zonal committee at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Kohsar Block, Pak Secretariat in Islamabad.
The rest of the zonal / district committees met at their respective provincial / district headquarters.
Earlier, Azad, citing astronomical views, said the chances of seeing the new crescent on Thursday evening were “very bright”.
The new crescent was born on Wednesday at 6:06 a.m. Pakistan Standard Time (PST) crossing the conjunction point.
