Dubai: President Dr. Arif Alawi arrived in Dubai on Saturday on a two-day official visit, where he was received by UAE Minister of Justice Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Naeemi and Pakistani Ambassador Afzal Mahmood at Al Qatum International. Airport.

During his visit, Arif Alvi will formally inaugurate the Pakistan Pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020 and meet dignitaries of the UAE, prominent businessmen, investors, traders, senior representatives of information technology companies and the media.

Following the inauguration of the Pakistan Pavilion, the President will visit various parts of the pavilion located in a key area of ​​the Expo site and will be considered the largest such pavilion outside the country.

He will be a special guest at the Roshan Digital Account and Roshan Apna Home event, initiatives launched by the government to facilitate immigrants.

‘The best place to reach the world’

Speaking to a Gulf newspaper ahead of his visit to the United Arab Emirates, President Alvi said that Dubai Expo 2020 was providing Pakistan with the best place to reach the world.

“This is a great place for us to reach a large global audience to attract foreign investment in various sectors, including renewable energy, mineral resources, real estate, engineering, information technology, agriculture and tourism,” he said.

“Our active presence at Expo 2020 in Dubai reflects our renewed focus on geoeconomics,” he said.

Talking about the relations between the UAE and Pakistan, the President said, “The fraternal relations between Pakistan and the UAE stand the test of time and have progressed over many years. We spoke at the level of regular leadership. Maintains dialogue, aimed at reviewing and enhancing political, economic, trade and investment, cultural and defense cooperation.

Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan.

On the situation in Afghanistan, President Alvi said, “We are closely watching the developments in Afghanistan and are in touch with the international community on this issue.”

“We have consistently stressed the need for a political solution and supported every effort for peace in Afghanistan,” he said. We have been part of all regional and international mechanisms aimed at peace and stability in Afghanistan.

“Peace in Afghanistan is also essential to understanding our vision of regional connectivity, economic integration and development,” he said.

He said that Pakistan is the country that wants peace in Afghanistan the most.

He added, “We have also been emphasizing that the international community’s continued, constructive engagement is essential to averting the humanitarian crisis and ensuring lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan. The well-being of the Afghan people is paramount.” Must be a priority.

Pakistan Pavilion became the top destination among the visitors.

Dubai Expo 2020 is the largest and most diverse exhibition in the region with the participation of 192 countries, multilateral organizations and businesses. The expo started on October 1 and will continue till March 31, 2022.
