The opposition criticized the government for “incompetently” dealing with the ongoing petrol crisis, as thousands of people stormed into petrol pumps across the country on Thursday during a nationwide strike announced by Pakistan Petroleum Dealers. The PPP chairman noted that the next hike in petrol price would be disastrous for the people as he said that the increase in electricity, expensive petrol and gas prices were gifts of the PTIF agreement.
“We have said since day one that the PTI budget has failed. […] And the failure of the budget has proved that Imran Khan’s government is incompetent.
Meanwhile, PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz said in a tweet that the government’s “indifference and incompetence” forced people to wait in long queues for wheat, sugar and petrol.
Calling it “the height of injustice”, Maryam said that despite all the chaos, the government was “indifferent” to the people. The PML-N leader claimed that he had never seen Prime Minister Imran Khan “worried about the common man”.
Sharing a video in which a man can be seen criticizing the government while standing outside a petrol pump in Islamabad – with several people waiting to fill their tanks – Maryam said “This is the humiliation that Imran Khan has earned for a few. The day in power.”
In another tweet, Maryam shared photos of long queues outside petrol pumps in Islamabad, Lahore and Gujranwala and said: “These are not just long queues. [these images depict] People’s sorrow, pain and helplessness “
The PML-N said it prayed, “Imran Khan, those who impose them. [on the country]And the ministers also stand in long queues so that they can feel the suffering of the people.
