Professionalism Part 3

Team work is the mandatory part of the organization culture it focuses on relationship building and the trust is the glue that holds the organization together. Professionalism varies from types;

Individual Professionalism:

Attitude: Attitude of a person depends that whether he is serious on what he is going to perform or he is just a non-serious person.

Pride: A person should do the work which does not hurt his pride.

 Responsibility: he should not take such kind of responsibility which he cannot fulfil.

Being a team player: A person should be a good team player and can do work in adequate situations.

Honest: Be honest with everyone.

Loyal: Loyalty comes first in professionalism.

Care about people and goals: care about the people you are working with and try to achieve the goal at the given time.

Accountability: A person should be accountable for his work that what he is doing.

Investment: Invest in yourself in your own time so that the professional you can be seen.

Professionalism in team work:

A person should take full responsibility and instead of making excuses or blaming each other. In a team a person should share information openly and he should collaborate on important issues. He should focus on common purpose in hand instead of getting side tracked by details. He should value each member of his team and his background.

A person should openly and respectfully resolve all voice concerns and criticisms. Always be positive about your team members and their work and appreciate them on their work.

Professionalism Values:

Values are the most effective way to differentiate an individual or organization. Individual professionalism values include:


Passion for excellence

Team cooperation and leadership


Respect and trust.

Professionalism is not only applied on the persons who are working. It is also applied in a student’s life so the professionalism for the student is:

Enjoying the total experience

Building your entire carrier

Developing ‘ownership’ of his program.

Managing your own time.

Accepting Responsibility

Having nonnegotiable values

Personal enthusiasm and style.

Professionalism Issues in Class:

Proper Language

Tardiness and absenteeism

Excessive talking

Working on other assignments

Sleeping in class

Desiring special treatment

Team work concerns.

Professionalism can be applied in every situation depending on the person whether he adopts it or not?.
