Centurion: South africa won the rain-hit Odi match against Pakistan played on Friday. Pakistan batted first after winning the toss. Pakistan posted a good total of 317. This was Pakistan’s best batting performance in this Odi so far. Imam ul Haq played a wonderful knock and scored his 5th Odi. Imam also got 1000 Odi runs in 20 innings and became the 2nd fastest to get this milestone after Fakhar Zaman.
After Fakhar getting out without scoring any runs on the board, Imam and Babar batted wuth great patience. Babar got out to Steyn after scoring 79. After that Hafeez came and played brilliant shots scoring 52 with Imam present at the other end. Imad Wasim came at the crease and played a blistering knock. Imad was very good in his shots as he managed to score good 43 runs off 23 balls only and posted a target of 318 runs.
South African openers were very positive in their start. De kock and Amla were not letting Pakistani bowlers to set. They were playing at a good run rate of around 6. Hassan Ali provided the breakthrough picking up wicket of Amla. De kock was out due an eagle eye through by Shadab khan. Du plesis and Reeza Heindricks were at the crease when rain interrupted the game in 17th over.
Rain stopped after an hour. Du plesis and Heindricks took advantage of wet ball and took Pakistani bowlers on charge. They were scoring more than required as per DLS. After the few hours ran came back heavily and this time SA was 13 runs ahead. Rain didn’t allowed the match to start again and SA was called winner of the match.
