Albert William Kayper-Mensah (1923 – 1980) used to be a Ghanaian poet, broadcaster and diplomat. He printed a number of collections of poetry in English and German, and used to be incorporated in quite a lot of anthologies of African poetry.
Albert Kayper-Mensah used to be born in Sekondi, Ghana in 1923, the oldest of 3 siblings. He used to be trained at Mfantsipim College and Achimota Faculty prior to going to Queens’ Faculty, Cambridge in 1946 after which the College of London.
On returning to Ghana, Kayper-Mensah taught at Wesley Faculty in Kumasi the place he remained for seven years. By way of the past due Nineteen Fifties he used to be acting poetry and performs on Ghanaian radio, and likewise showing at the BBC’s The Brains Consider in February 1959. He carried out on the Mermaid Theatre in London in July 1961. Later he hosted ‘Face to Face’ at the Ghana Broadcasting Company
He went on to enroll in Ghana’s diplomatic provider, serving in a foreign country for 15 years, together with classes in Bonn and London. It used to be whilst in diplomatic provider that many of Kayper-Mensah’s poems had been printed
Albert Kayper-Mensah’s loss of life used to be reported on 9 February 1980. On the time he used to be serving in Germany as Most important Secretary within the Ministry of International Affairs. Later that month the Ghana Affiliation of Writers held a memorial literary night.
