The Heart States Championships often referred to as the Heart States Sectional Championships or Championship of the Heart States was once event held at more than a few places from 1885 to 1968.[1][2][3]

Historical past[edit]

The spring Championship of the Heart States had been first staged on the St George’s Cricket Membership, Hoboken, New Jersey on 9 June 1885.[4] The primary winner of the boys’s singles match was once Richard D. Sears.[5] The event was once labeled as a regional championship by way of america Garden Tennis Affiliation till 1900 once they began to be refered to as sectional championships (a geographic, competative time period, however not anything to with how they’re ruled.[6]
