The Pyatigorsky Otdel (pre-reform Russian: Пятиго́рскій отде́лъ, tr. Pyatigórsky otdél) used to be an otdel (“Cossack district”) of the Terek Oblast of the Caucasus Viceroyalty of the Russian Empire. The realm of the Pyatigorsky Otdel makes up a part of the North Caucasian Federal District of Russia. The Pyatigorsky Otdel used to be eponymously named for its place of business, Pyatigorsk.[1]
